Definitely not your everyday girl

Definitely not your everyday girl.

In her hometown of Charlotte, NC, Anna Schmid passes as  pretty much your average college student, but  is definitely not your average model.  You see, she can't walk or stand, and hasn't in over 10 years.

Anna has a neuro-muscular disease called Charcot Marie Tooth, an odd name that most people are not familiar for a disease that affects some 2.6 million people. It damages certain nerves and in turn certain muscles that then cannot be strengthened again.

“ I use a scooter to get around”, says Anna. “but  this hardly stops me from living my life.  I still drive, go to school, have my own apartment, and swim.  I'm an extremely determined person, and modeling has always been a dream of mine. It’s something I’ve been actively pursuing for  over a year now and I've loved every minute of it !  I love being in front of the camera, singing, acting, and just being myself.  I am definitely not shy,  in fact quite the opposite.  I always enjoy meeting new people, and  thanks to my modeling have had the chance to make some really great friends”.

She’s not your average model for sure, but what’s not to love and admire about her take on things?

“I hope the way I view and live my life changes the way people think about issues like mine, and that I can be a good example to others who  have to overcome problems like mine that life has thrown their way. .

We are proud to have Anna on our books at THE AGENCY.
