Angelina Jolie says she'd marry Brad Pitt if their kids asked - but leave Shiloh's style alone

We wouldn't want an encounter in a dark alley with Angelina Jolie's new spy character, Evelyn Salt, but it sounds like the actress is even tougher as a mother of six.

As Jolie did rampant promotion for her new flick, "Salt," this weekend, a Reuters reporterinquired about her and Brad Pitt's little girl Shiloh -- whose penchant for tomboy clothes has caught the attention of many a blogger.

"I think she [Shiloh] is fascinating, the choices she is making. And I would never be the kind of parent to force somebody to be something they are not. I think that is just bad parenting," Jolie said.

We can only hope this was said with an eyebrow arched and lips judgmentally pouting.

"Children should be allowed to express themselves in whatever way they wish without anybody judging them because it is an important part of their growth," she added.

Jolie and Pitt would know a thing or two about raising children -- they have six, including little Shiloh.

In an interview with Cynthia McFadden for ABC News, Jolie broached the topic of marriage by basically saying she and Pitt will walk down no aisle unless the kids want them to.

"I think it'd be hard to say no to the kids," Jolie said, talking about the day they might ask why Mommy and Daddy don't have matching rings.

But for now? "They're not asking."
