CALLING ALL TALENT (yes, that means YOU!!)

Hey everyone, whether you're new to the site (welcome!) or not, there are a few things to poke you all in the ribs about ..

* Add a phone number to your profile.
Often the casting agents are in a rush, and if you're number isn't readily available it means that they have to wait for your e-mail response when reaching out to you about a job. Frankly, many of them won't bother. Don't be scared.. you can set your privacy settings so that only clients have access to the number if you want, but it's important, so DO IT!

* Also, add your date of birth.
If a client searching the site looks for people 0 -100 yrs old for a job and the database doesn't have your DOB, then you will not appear! That's how computers work.. Nobody will ever see it but the machine will know...

* It's about your avatars..
Make sure that your avatar picture (the little one top right in your profile) clearly shows what you look like; it's the first picture that clients see (albeit a larger version), and no matter how hot you are, how unbelievable an actor, or how mad your breakdancing skills, if they can't see what you look like from that initial image, the chances are, they'll pass you by and you'll be left sobbing at home.

* Read the job details before submitting.
We know it's tempting to submit on everything you see, but if you're patently not right for the job, please resist... We work really closely with many of the clients, and get to see all kinds of wacky submissions; women for mens roles, Caucasian guys when the job specifies African American, 70 yr olds who see themselves as 30, and (our personal favorite) a man in full scuba gear (including the mask) who submitted for every roll on the site. Side-splitting though that was, for the casting director wading through on a time crunch.. not so much. Believe me, they will remember you.. and not in a good way.

* Check the site every day.

Submit asap. You snooze, you lose. That simple.

* Don't get all 'down in the mouth' when things aren't going your way.
This is a crazy business! There's often no rhyme nor reason why some people work when others aren't. It's like wondering why the dog turns 'round two or three times before lying down.. That's just the way it is! It happens to everyone. Take that George Clooney: went from flop to flop for years, and now look at him! Won't even return our calls.
Keep focussed, make sure all your details are up to date, do what you have to do, and stay in the game. Everyone who is part of our agency community is rooting for you.
Incidentally, I know why dogs do that: it's because one good turn deserves another (Ba-dum-dum-DUM!)

* We're tying up a re-design of our site, and aim to  keep adding more and more great stuff as we grow. Meanwhile, if you have feedback for us, things that you'd like to see, things you wouldn't, let us know! suggestions@theagencyonline.com. We've already incorporated some great ideas from talent, and worse case scenario we just completely ignore you.

* Check out the beginnings of our new Resources Area if you haven't (look up and click Resources).
Know someone we just have to include? Please send info to resources@theagencyOnline.com, and thanks!

* Tell all your friends about the agency!
Then tell them again! It's about World peace, people.
