Tuesday Talent Tips ... but on wednesday

As you may imagine, we're constantly getting feedback on our agency talent as they prowl for work; here are a couple of things that we've seen come up a few times that you should take note of. Think of it as our way of helping make sure that harmony and peace reign throughout the world.

1) When you go on a casting, print out your comp card from the site to leave for the client if they need it. Give the agency as your agent,and leave your personal contact details (they re also on your 'card').

2) On all castings, be clean, be on time, dress appropriately, give them what they need, then leave. It's work for them, too, and fascinating though tales of
your cat/child/gambling habit may be, they generally don't care, and don't have the time.

3) Check your e mail and voice messages regularly. Do not go the entire day without checking, as often castings either come up last minute, or require that you submit ASAP. Several people (you know who you are!) completely missed call-backs over the past few days because they preferred to a) sleep b) not charge their phones c) live in an alternative world where clients can contact you about the jobs they want to book you on by using extrasensory perception / Vulcan mind transfer.

4) Keep at it. Submit. Don't let the man put you down. Stay positive. Clients can sniff failure and desperation on you the same way a dog smells fear. If you show up on a casting or job looking/sounding like Eeyore then I don't care how talented or fabulous you actually are, you ain't getting booked any day soon!

CARPE DIEM, people (which actually means 'Seize the day', not 'todays fish').
