MARTHA DAVIS 40-55 / Female / Caucasian Mother to Jack and June. A friendly, quirky but riddled with fear American housewife and mother, who considers herself liberal; only to become consumed with fear as the relationship between Jack and Ameena progresses. Strong singer with high rock belt. TALAL RADWAN 20-35 / Male / Middle Eastern/North African Brother to Ameena. A survivor and resilient Syrian man who struggles to hold on to his past and to redefine his role in both, America and his family. High tenor. Pop rock vocal sensibilities. Should be able to learn/speak a few lines of Arabic. JUNE DAVS 9-12 / Female / Caucasian Sister to Jack and youngest child to Martha and Robert. A precocious child that easily absorbs the conversations and emotions of those around her but craves to be heard and have her family at peace. Wide emotional range. Strong Actress and singer AMMAR RADWAN 40-50 / Male / Middle Eastern/North African Father to Ameena and Talal. An honest, wise and with a humor that is sometimes lost in translation, Ammar is an experienced doctor struggling with being unable to practice his craft in America and trying to guide his two children. Should be able to learn/speak a few lines of Arabic. Strong Actor. Minor singing role. ROBERT DAVIS 40-55 / Male / Caucasian Father to Jack, June and husband to Martha. He has a fun sense of humor that nobody else gets and tried to navigate Martha’s emotional landscape. Strong comedic actor. Minor singing role. (M, 40/50s) HAMZE 8-12 / Male / Middle Eastern/North African An Iraqi youth who plays soccer and befriends Jack during his tour of duty. Should be able to speak or learn Iraqi dialect/Arabic. No singing.
