YOUNG EMILIO 8-13 / Male / Hispanic Doubles as Emilio Estefan as a boy, as well as Gloria Estefan’s son. Must be a strong dancer and speak Spanish. Does not need to sing. LITTLE GLORIA 10-13 / Female / Hispanic Cuban. Innocent, smart, and self-reliant. A little sad, but always hopeful. Must speak Spanish and sing well. GLORIA FAJARDO 50-60 / Female / Hispanic Cuban. Gloria’s brassy, strong-willed mother. Latin matriarch. Biting humor. Must speak fluent Spanish and sing well. CONSUELO 60-70 / Female / Hispanic Cuban. Gloria’ Grandmother. Like a Cuban stage mother. Sometimes an apparition. Wise, loving, and warm. Always pushing Gloria to achieve her dreams. Must speak fluent Spanish and be able to carry a tune. GLORIA ESTEFAN 20-30 / Female / Hispanic Cuban. Starts off shy, but slowly opens up as the show progresses. Becomes an icon. Sharp sense of humor. Strong Actress with star quality. Must speak fluent Spanish, sing pop, and move well. EMILIO ESTEFAN 30-40 / Male / Hispanic Cuban. Confident, Handsome, Loyal, Leading man with character. Sometimes stumbles over his English as well as his emotions. Must speak fluent Spanish and sing well. |
