She wants to be taken seriously, but life makes her do ridiculous things.

Dancer, hairdresser, yogi, and bartender who also races motor-cross. She is a recovering alcoholic, very sexually active, with a unique style. She has a poetic soul and sometimes speaks in riddles. She is surprisingly smart but fears she is not funny. Beautiful and very physical - she has one foot in the spirit world and one foot in the gutter. She wants quiet but she, and her life, are so loud.

Middle-aged rock n roller. Has been married to his best friend, Amy for 10 years but is now coming out of the closet as bi and poly. Has had many secrets and an alternate life that he leads on the road, but is now coming to terms with all of it. He has a good sense of humor, and is a good friend, but he is learning to put his foot down about what he really wants - like a boyfriend and BDSM.

Middle-aged casting director. Inscrutable with a withering gaze. Has ancient history with Amy that he may or may not still be stewing over. Successful and driven, he loves his job, but he is not always good at it.

Amy’s nemesis, she is petty, annoying, and vindictive, with a piercing laugh. Has become a successful tv actor in NY, but nobody knows why. She is neither a good actress, nor a likable person, but her serious diva attitude and princess looks seem to take her places. She swore vengeance on Amy and reaps it whenever she can.

Amy’s mother is an elegant woman who is learning how to relax in retirement. From mid-western, Calvinist stock, she values productivity, and social usefulness. She had high expectations of her daughter and still does. She does not necessarily approve of Amy’s mid-career shift - she liked the funny stuff Amy did before. But she’s glad to have Amy home more, and likes getting her help and company around the house. She does not hold back her council.

Rasta landlord. Bought property in the 80s and now he spends most of his time collecting rent, fixing leaks, and smoking on the stoop. He only accepts cash, but has been known to take bribes as well. International man of mystery.
