Our hardware store guy has always been a “tool guy”. Even as a kid, he played with toy tools and
could take apart any toy and put it back together. He owns a small-town hardware store and knows all
the locals. He is the guy the neighbors come to for advice and conversation.
Even though he is a “tool guy”, he is very gentle with our little girl who wants to build a bird house. He does not dismiss her, but instead wants to help her build the bird house of her dreams.

When we’re with a firefighter, we have a sense they’re a rock- solid individual. Someone who runs toward danger to help others escape it. That’s the kind of guy our fire chief is. He grew up in a large family and stepped into his father’s shoes as a second-generation firefighter. Now, he is a Fire Chief and teaches the rookies the ropes.
It’s obvious that the school children visiting the fire house look up to our fire chief. Our actor playing
him should look like an honest-to-goodness real, relatable, likeable fire chief

This character has always lived by the ocean and was a surfer as a young man. He’s a real salt-of-the-earth kind of guy, warm and likeable. There should be an outdoorsy, seaside ruggedness about our hero. At the same time, he ADORES being a grandfather and his granddaughter is the light of his life. He made his living as a construction
worker and he’s going to make sure he helps his granddaughter construct the best sand castle on the beach
